US organic and natural foods manufacturer Hain Celestial has announced that is has teamed up with fastfood giant McDonald’s to bring a new soy-based patty McVeggie Burger to participating McDonald’s stores in Manhattan, New York.

The McVeggie Burger is being manufactured exclusively for McDonald’s by Yves Veggie Cuisine, a brand wholly owned by Hain Celestial, at its plant in Vancouver, Canada.
The new burger is a meatless soy-based patty with barbeque sauce, fresh lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles served on a toasted sesame seed bun. It contains eight grams of fat and 370 calories, is cholesterol free and low in saturated fat.
The product is a replacement to the existing McVeggie Burger patty that had been offered at New York outlets of McDonald’s.
