Meals.com Inc., a subsidiary of Coinstar Inc. (Nasdaq:CSTR – news), today announced two new partnership agreements that will expand its presence on the World Wide Web.
Meals.com is branching out beyond the supermarket industry to provide its recipe and meal planning tools to Food.com (www.food.com), a leader in the on-line dining industry and BlueSuitMom.com (www.bluesuitmom.com), a site that caters to working mothers.
“Meals.com is already the recipe and meal planning engine behind several supermarket sites,” said Jens Molbak, CEO of Meals.com. “We will continue to pursue agreements with supermarket retailers, however, our new partnerships with leading Web sites such as Food.com and BlueSuitMom.com will expand our reach on the Web and help us connect with new audiences.”
Consumers who use Food.com are looking for one source for all their dining options. With the addition of information on how easy it is to make meals at home, Food.com is providing its customers with an option that can save money and time. “Food.com continues to build its offerings to become the destination on the Internet for everything related to food,” said Karen Orton Katz, senior vice president of marketing and business development. “By partnering with Meals.com, Food.com is able to provide consumers with a searchable database of recipes and a weekly menu suggestion.”
BlueSuitMom.com has an extensive food page geared toward career minded mothers, including sections titled Ask the Cook, Kids Kitchen and Cooking Tips. “Our customers look to us for reliable information that works for their lifestyle,” said Maria Bailey, founder and CEO of BlueSuitMom.com. “By adding Meals.com to our Web site we are giving our customers thousands of new meal planning options and the versatility to adapt recipes to their family size and preferences.”
Meals.com uses advanced technology to create a “smart” Web site with a robust back-end database structure and sophisticated personalization capabilities. Visitors to its branded (www.meals.com) site and rapidly growing list of private-label sites can efficiently search a 10,000 recipe database. Registered users can employ personalized tools such as “My Cookbook” and “My Shopping List” to save favorite recipes and automatically generate convenient shopping lists. With each visit, Meals.com learns consumer preferences so it can make intelligent meal recommendations.
