Meals.com, a subsidiary of Coinstar Inc. (Nasdaq:CSTR), today unveiled a redesigned site with easy-to-use layout and browse features.

The improved site enables visitors to browse more than 10.000 recipes, plan dinner, and make shopping more efficient. On the Web since 1999, Meals.com provides shoppers with relevant information and special offers based on their personal preferences.

Meals.com researched consumers’ meal-planning needs and redesigned the Web site to make it easier for visitors to organize a recipe collection, access their favorite recipes, create a personalized grocery list and develop a weekly meal plan.

“We understand that today’s busy consumers are looking for innovative tools to simply their lives,” said Jens Molbak, CEO of Meals.com. “Using our customers’ suggestions, we developed a site that offers practical — yet inspirational — meal-planning solutions.”

Some of the new design and browse features include:

Recipe Center
Surveys have found that as many as 70 percent of Americans don’t know at 4 p.m. what they will be eating for dinner that night. Using the new browse feature on Meals.com, visitors can easily be inspired by choosing from more than 10,000 recipes by dietary preference, cuisine or by cooking method.

My Clipboard
The traditional method of searching cookbooks and clipping recipes before deciding what to prepare is simplified on Meals.com using My Clipboard. While searching for new ideas, visitors can browse recipes on the site, store those on their clipboard that they find interesting and then add these recipes to their weekly meal plan.

My Meal Plan
Using My Meal Plan, visitors can select their favorite recipes from their clipboard and create a weekly meal schedule. Once completed, the meal plan can be used to create a personalized grocery list with all of the ingredients to prepare the selected recipes.

My Grocery List
With just one click, Meals.com makes a grocery list based on the recipes selected in My Meal Plan. Visitors can add the ingredients from a recipe or any other item that they don’t want to forget, then print the list and use it on their next shopping trip.

Use What’s in My Fridge
For consumers who do not have time to grocery shop, the Meals.com Use What’s In My Fridge feature can find recipes that use only the ingredients that are currently in the refrigerator.

Suggested Meals
What’s for Dinner? Suggested Meals can help answer this question with meal ideas for tonight, parties or special occasions.

Meals.com retail and Internet partners have also incorporated the easy-to-use features into their private label sites. These sites include www.marsh.net, www.shopnsavefood.com, www.ukrops.com, www.bigy.com, www.gerlands.com, www.food.com, www.bluesuitmom.com, and www.mom.com.
