More than 1,750 exhibits will showcase the latest news in the natural products industry on September 22-24, 2000 at the Baltimore Convention Center at Natural Products Expo East.

Over 20,000 retailers, manufacturers and media are expected to attend the $28 billion natural products industry’s premier trade show, now in its 16th year. The Expo includes an on-site Educational Conference Program September 21th-24th.

“This year, we are celebrating prosperity — natural products sales have grown 11% for the second consecutive year,” said Kate Lawrence-Eberhard, president, New Hope Natural Media Trade Show Division. “At Expo East, retailers get all the information they need to remain competitive. The newest product introductions are showcased in the Expo exhibits. Our Conference Program covers the latest technological advances, regulatory changes and market research.”

Open to the trade and media only, the Expo’s Trade Show floor is open Friday, September 22nd through Sunday, September 24th, with exhibits featuring organic foods, dietary supplements, vitamins, herbs/medicinals, pet products, alternative healing products, personal care products and a variety of other natural products. Exhibits will be open to retailers only between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for all attendees on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday for all attendees.

Over 600 innovative new products, each on the market less than 12 months, will be displayed in the New Products Showcase. The Organic Marketplace will feature the latest organic products, with two new pavilions: Organic Home & Textiles and Organic Raw Materials. And, for the first time this year, Supply@Expo, a business-to-business gathering for raw material suppliers and manufacturers, is being introduced.

Additionally, 40 seminars and interactive workshops are offered to attendees Thursday, September 21st through Sunday, September 24th, focusing on a wide range of business and product issues impacting natural products retailing. A sampling of subjects being presented by noted experts includes consumer research, doing business on the Web, communicating with the media, regulatory updates, industry trends, and other issues ranging from a general assembly on genetic engineering to the health benefits of colostrum.
