OpenTable.com, the online restaurant reservation network, today announced that it has delivered more than 1,000 covers to one of San Francisco’s most popular restaurants, Jardiniere.

Traci Des Jardins, owner and executive chef, introduced online reservations to her customers early this year when she began using OpenTable.com’s electronic reservation book, or ERB, to accept online reservations and to keep track of her customers’ preferences and enhance the diner experience. Jardiniere is one of San Francisco’s most popular restaurants — well known as a pre-or post-theater destination as well as for its award-winning California-French cuisine.

“OpenTable.com has given us new ways to understand who our guests are, and what they want,” said Traci Des Jardins of Jardiniere. “Their system is helping us utilize the Internet to communicate more easily with consumers, and makes it easier to cater to the desires of our regulars. We are impressed with the responsiveness of their team, and their enthusiasm for and understanding of our restaurant and the way that we operate. 52% of the reservations that OpenTable.com delivers to us are first-time visitors to the restaurant, which means that OpenTable.com is bringing us significant numbers of new customers, as well as giving our regulars an easy and efficient way to visit us.”

Jardiniere is one of the most popular restaurants in the OpenTable.com network. David Douglass, director of branding and communication at Jamcracker, Inc., used OpenTable.com to make dinner reservations at Jardiniere for his wife’s birthday. “OpenTable.com helped me make my wife’s birthday special,” said Douglass. “I noted that we would be celebrating in the `notes’ section of the OpenTable.com website when I made the reservation online. I did not mention to the restaurant staff that we were celebrating, but when dessert arrived it came with a candle and a “happy birthday” message! OpenTable.com helps us seamlessly make requests and communicate with restaurants online, any time. My wife and I have started making all of our reservations through OpenTable.com.”

“We’re very proud of the caliber of restaurants on our network,” said Chuck Templeton, OpenTable.com CEO. “When we founded OpenTable.com, one of our goals was to make great restaurants like Jardiniere easily accessible to people who enjoy dining out. It is a measure of our success that we are able to deliver significant numbers of both new and returning customers to our member restaurants, as well as help people make decisions about where to spend their time out, and effectively take action once their decision has been made.”
