Natural
and organic food specialist Hain Celestial has reported a 13.5% increase in
revenues to $105 million for Q1 2002. Following numerous health scares, many
Americans are increasingly turning to the supposed benefits of organic foods.
The organic meat segment is expected to grow particularly strongly to 2005,
at an average rate of 47% per year. Other segments such as ready meals and bakery/cereal
products will also show good growth, although it will not be anywhere near as
strong.
