Peabodys Coffee announced yesterday [Wednesday] that its core business continues to show strong growth with sales for the three months ended 31 March 2002, increasing by 43% to US$914,000 as compared to the same period in the previous year.

In addition, the company reported a dramatic 99% increase in average quarterly sales per retail location to US$50,800 as compared to the same period in the previous year.

Peabodys’ Chairman, Todd Tkachuk, commented: “The increase in average unit sales is very solid, providing us with even further evidence of positive consumer response to high quality organic coffee.

“With the launch of our new certified organic Black Rhino Coffee brand just around the corner, these sales increases get us really excited.”
