Pierre Laubies, president of the European arm of Camden, NJ-based food giant Campbell Soup, has resigned to pursue a new career opportunity.

Laubies has led the company’s European business unit since January 2000, and he will remain with Campbell until a successor has been named.

Group president and CEO Douglas R. Conant commented: “Laubies has made important contributions to our company, most notably by leading the acquisition of the European Culinary Brands from Unilever in 2001.

“Our European portfolio has nearly doubled in size, is more strategically focused on soup and sauces, and is better positioned for profitable growth. We appreciate Laubies’ efforts in a highly competitive marketplace and wish him all the best in the future.”
