William T. Keon, III, President and Chief Executive Officer for Pueblo International, announced today that Melissa Lammers has been appointed to the new position of Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer for Pueblo International effective at the beginning of 2001. Ms. Lammers will head up AdTeam, Corporate Marketing, Public Relations and new market initiatives.
Keon explained that the creation of a formal marketing function is the logical next step in the revamping of Pueblo in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, an on-going task since 1998. He described Ms. Lammers as the perfect fit for this new senior executive position in Pueblo. “Melissa’s excellent reputation in marketing communications, her proven business skills, and her knowledge of the local market make her the best possible choice for our marketing efforts,” stated Keon. “She will be responsible not only for renovating Pueblo’s image and improving our market position but also with seeking out and exploiting opportunities for synergies among our businesses in Puerto Rico.”
Our organization is very excited by Melissa’s appointment, Keon added, as she will bring to Pueblo great benefits and be of critical assistance to us in carrying out our 2001 objectives. “Pueblo has several new sites approaching the construction stage, new offerings to be rolled out in our video stores, and is working towards completing several interesting strategic alliances.”
Lammers is currently President of Young and Rubicam Puerto Rico and has spent the past seventeen years in advertising in the Northern Caribbean market. She holds advertising and marketing degrees from the University of Florida.
