Riviana Foods has announced that it has accepted the resignation of four board members as part of its corporate governance objective to reconfigure the board to include a majority of independent directors.

Leaving the board will be non-independent directors Frank K Godchaux, W David Hanks, Theresa G Payne and E Wayne Ray, Jr. As a result, the size of the board of directors will be reduced from twelve to eight members. The board has also named E James Lowrey as lead director who will preside over periodic meetings of non-management directors.
