Safe Foods Corporation has announced the appointment of Bruce Smith as Chief Operating Officer, effective February 12, 2001. Smith will the join the executive team of this Arkansas-based company that owns the exclusive world-wide patent rights to a much-anticipated new antimicrobial food safety technology.

Over the past 20 years, Smith has held progressively senior positions with the Entergy Corporation, one of the largest electric utilities in the nation, establishing a track record of leadership in strategy development, program execution, operations, and employee engagement. His most recent positions at Entergy included managing director of a process and system integration project to prepare for electric utility market competition, Director of Sales and Service activities for large customers and Executive Director of Marketing and Sales support. Smith holds a Master of Science degree in Operations Management and a Bachelor of Science degree with high honors in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas.
