US food and consumer goods giant Sara Lee has announced the appointment of Garry S. Berryman to the new position of chief procurement officer, effective 30 March.

In this role, Berryman will be responsible for the company’s global procurement operations. He will report to L.M. de Kool, executive vice president and chief financial and administrative officer.
Berryman joins Sara Lee from Applied Materials, where he served as vice president of global materials and supply chain management. Prior to that, he was at Harley-Davidson for eight years as vice president of materials management and product cost.
