Sturken, who is a former executive of supermarket chain Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co, replaces James Meyer who will remain with Spartan Stores as chairman.


Sturken was most recently chief executive of A&P’s Atlantic region and previously ran A&P’s Midwest region.
