The Resort at Squaw Creek, a AAA four-diamond resort nestled in the mountains at the base of Squaw Valley USA, is the host hotel for the 15th Annual Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival. For the festival, which takes place October 27-29, the Resort at Squaw Creek is offering room rates from $169.00 per night plus tax and service charges.

This year’s festival features hands-on cooking classes, educational seminars, private reserve wine tastings, a vodka and caviar tasting, gourmet cuisine sampling, an art and wine auction, and a gourmet marketplace. Several renowned chefs and winemakers, along with other notable culinary experts, will be making presentations.

Presenting chefs this year include: Joseph Keller, chef/restaurateur of Bouchon in the Napa Valley and the recently opened Josef’s, a French brasserie in Las Vegas; Douglas Dale, of the award-winning Wolfdales Cuisine Unique; Keith Luce, a former White House chef, James Beard Award-winning “Rising Star Chef” and executive chef for the PlumpJack Restaurant Group; Lars Kronmark, chef-instructor at the Culinary Institute of America, Greystone; John Ash, author and culinary director for Fetzer Vineyards; Jennifer Bushman of the Nothing To It! Culinary Center in Reno, Nevada.

However, chefs are not the only culinary experts that will be present at this year’s festival. Other cuisine-savvy presenters include: Shirley Corriher, author of CookWise; Janet Fletcher, staff food writer for the San Francisco Chronicle and author of The Cheese Course; Jerry Anne Di Vecchio, Food and Wine Editor at Sunset Magazine; and Ken Lee of Lotus Foods.

Several wine experts will be in attendance too. George Bursick, winemaker at Ferrari Carano Vineyards and Winery, will lead a hands-on wine-blending seminar in which participants will create their own private reserve wine. John Livingston of Livingston Moffet Winery, Jed Steele of Steele Wines, and Kim Caffrey of Beringer Wine Estates will offer private reserve tastings.
