Petaluma, California-based Spectrum Organic Products has names Neil G. Blomquist as its new CEO, effective 1 September.
Blomquist joined the company in 1989 as director of sales and marketing. In 1994 he was appointed president and COO. Blomquist has been president of the Branded Divisions since 1999.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity that Spectrum has given me to become even more involved in the day to day operations of the company,” said Blomquist. “With the recent divestitures of its non-core lines of business, Spectrum is now positioned to focus on its core competencies in healthy culinary oils and essential fatty acid nutrition.”
Blomquist was recently elected VP of the California Olive Oil Council. Prior to joining Spectrum, he was a sales manager with Fairhill Foods.
Jethren Phillips, Spectrum’s founder, current CEO and chairman will continue in the latter role, focusing on key strategic issues affecting Spectrum’s future and special projects that leverage his thirty years as an ambassador for organic foods and the importance of good fats in a healthy diet.
