US snack cakes maker Tasty Baking Company has named Blake Thompson as senior vice president of supply chain, reporting to Charles Pizzi, president and chief executive officer.

In this newly created position, Thompson will be responsible for the management of the company’s entire supply chain, including research and development, purchasing, production planning, manufacturing, quality control, engineering, distribution, and materials management.
Thompson joins Tasty Baking from PepsiCo’s snack division, Frito-Lay, where he spent 22 years in a wide-range of senior management positions. Most recently, he was regional vice president of northeast operations, where he managed the supply chain for three manufacturing sites.
