One lucky voter will also be randomly chosen at the end of “30 Days on the Internet” to win all 30 prizes given away throughout the campaign. The number one site in the food/beverage category will be announced at the upcoming Internet World Fall 2000, along with the favorite in the other 29 categories.

Additionally, Bank of America has partnered with Galaxy to provide reports containing financial profiles, relevant industry trends and the latest research about the food and beverage industry. An executive summary is posted on the Galaxy Web site. WebVision, a provider of full-scale Internet business solutions, has also aligned with Galaxy as the event sponsor.

“Internet use of food and beverage needs is continuing to increase dramatically. For example, IDC Research projects that by 2004 American Internet users will spend 8.8 billion dollars at on-line grocery stores,” said Galaxy’s chief executive officer, J. Tod Fetherling. “As a vertical search engine, our goal is to make this information quick and easy to find as more sites begin competing for this Internet space.”

This is the fifth winning category in Galaxy’s “30 Days on the Internet” campaign, a program designed to recognize the best sites in 30 different categories throughout September. Galaxy is currently accepting submissions for the remaining 25 categories.
