Transora, the global eMarketplace for consumer packaged goods (CPG) suppliers, manufacturers and retailers, today announced that it has appointed Neal B. Ebert to the position of chief technology officer (CTO), effective immediately. Ebert reports to Judith A. Sprieser, Transora’s chief executive officer.
Ebert, 40, most recently served as chief information officer for Commerx, a leading provider of supply chain optimization services for manufacturers and their trading partners. Before joining Commerx, Ebert held executive-level technology management and operations positions at Bank One Corporation, Baxter Healthcare and General Cable. His experience spans a range of industries including manufacturing, distribution, financial services and healthcare.
“Neal’s deep supply-chain expertise combined with his broad cross-industry experience will be key to carrying out Transora’s best-of-breed technology strategy,” said Sprieser. “One of Neal’s greatest strengths is his proven track record of integrating multiple complex systems across large enterprises. This will be of particular significance to Transora’s customers as they begin to fully integrate our services to achieve breakthrough value for their companies, trading partners and consumers.”
Ebert succeeds Alex Gibbons, who has served as Transora’s acting chief technology officer since the company’s inception. Gibbons, who currently serves as senior vice president and chief information officer for Pillsbury Company, will continue to advise Transora on industry and technology issues.
“We are grateful to have had the benefit of Alex’s leadership and insight during Transora’s formative stages,” added Sprieser. “Transora’s success into the future will be a credit to Alex’s early contributions and continued insight going forward.”
