US meat processor Tyson Foods has announced that it has appointed Craig Hart as senior vice president, chief accounting officer and controller, effective immediately.

In his new position, Hart will be responsible for financial and operational accounting.

Prior to Tyson’s acquisition of IBP in 2001, Hart served as IBP’s chief accounting officer and controller since 1990, and was responsible for both financial and operational accounting.

Hart replaces Rodney Pless, who will remain with Tyson and will lead the company’s controls group and shared services accounting efforts. In his new position, Pless will continue to be responsible for ensuring successful documentation of key accounting policies and processes at Tyson.
