US meat producer Tyson Foods is looking to sell a chicken processing plant in Berlin, Maryland as part of a move to cut costs and restructure the company’s operations.

Seaford, Delaware-based Allen’s Family Foods, which has said it is in negotiations to buy the plant, also said it does not plan to reduce the plant’s 650-strong workforce.

Tyson recently announced plans to cut 500 jobs in the next two years. The company also plans to close plants in Stillwell, Oklahoma and Jacksonville, Florida, reported the Associated Press.
