Vlasic Foods International (NYSE: VL) announced Wednesday that Robert F. Bernstock had resigned as president, CEO and a member of the board.
The company also announced that it has hired the firm of Goldin Associates, a management consultant and financial advisor, to provide interim management services and to assist the company in implementing a financial restructuring and its strategic review process with Lazard Freres.
Goldin Associates will assume the responsibilities previously performed by Bernstock, the company said.
Bernstock said he was leaving to join another company, which was not specified.
Vlasic Foods International, based in Cherry Hill, N.J., says it is one of the largest publicly traded food companies. It has operations in the US, Canada and the UK.
Vlasic’s core businesses include Vlasic pickles and condiments and Swanson frozen foods. Leading businesses in the UK include Freshbake Frozen Foods and Stratford-upon-Avon foods.
