Natural and organic foods retailer Wild Oats Markets has appointed Dan Bolstad as senior vice president of operations, effective 25 July, 2005. He succeeds Edward Dunlap, who has resigned from the company.

Bolstad brings more than 25 years of operations and management experience in the food retail industry, the company said. Most recently he was senior vice president of operations for ShopKo Stores in Green Bay, Wis., a 140-store chain of multi-department retail stores. He spent most of his career at Fred Meyer Stores, a leading grocery and general merchandise retailer in the Pacific Northwest, which is owned by the Kroger Company.
