US retail chain Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. yesterday [Thursday] announced the election of Evan Rainwater as VP of Manufacturing and Victoria Humphrey as VP of Management and Organization Development.


Al Rowland, president and CEO, made the announcement at the Company’s corporate offices.


Before joining Winn-Dixie, Rainwater was with Safeway Supermarkets as Director of the Grocery Business Unit and previously the Director of Center for Manufacturing Excellence.


“We are extremely pleased that Evan joined the Winn-Dixie team,” said Rowland.  “He brings a wealth of experience in manufacturing and plant management. His professional contributions will help ensure the continued growth and success of Winn-Dixie.”


Rainwater will be responsible for Winn-Dixie’s 19 manufacturing plants, located throughout the Southeast. He reports to Dan Lafever, Senior VP of Sales and Procurement.

Humphrey was meanwhile with Lucent Technologies as the Director of Organizational Development prior to joining Winn-Dixie.

Humphrey reports to August Toscano, Senior VP of Human Resources, and will be responsible for strategic organizational planning and leadership development, recruitment and staffing.
