US chewing gum maker Wm Wrigley Jr has said president and chief executive Bill Wrigley Jr is to take on the additional role of chairman.

The company also appointed Ronald Waters to the newly created position of chief operating officer. Waters will also maintain his post as chief financial officer, Wrigley said. The appointments are effective 1 January, reported Dow Jones News Service.
Wrigley named Peter Hempstead to the newly created position of senior vice president of worldwide strategy and new business. Hempstead had previously held the position of senior vice president of international.
The company appointed Gary McCullough to the newly created post of senior vice president of worldwide commercial business. He was senior vice president of the Americas. Wrigley also said senior vice president Dushan Petrovich would take on the newly created role of chief administrative officer.
