Baltimore-Moskva, a division of the biggest producer of ketchup and sauces in Russia, Baltimore Holding Company, is set to invest a total of US$550,000 this year in the establishment of an Uzbekistan subsidiary.


Nikolai Novoseltsev, general director of the new company, Baltimore-Samarkand, told Interfax that it will package 2,000 tonnes of tomato and fruit pastes a year and produce 1,000 tonnes of ketchup a year.


Over the last three and a half years, Baltimore-Moskva has invested nearly US$5m in the production  of  fruit and vegetable products in Uzbekistan.
