The ministry made the decision (Ministry Decision No 19/2002/QD-BTS) in a bid to tackle the problem of waste from the factories polluting the environment.
Last year, Vietnam had 266 frozen seafood-processing plants, which had a total capacity of 1,500 tons a day, reported the Vietnam Economic News.
