Chinese dairy processor Yili booked a 71.2% leap in net profit for 2014, which rose to CNY4.17bn (US$672.6m).

The company said its profits represented a "new historical height".

Sales in the period in totaled CNY54.44bn. Growth was driven by the company's "star products". Sales of Satine Milk rose 60% and Pro-Kido growing up formula sales rose 91% year-on-year.

Yili added new products were performing well and driving growth in the first quarter of 2015. Newly-launched walnut milk and vegetable protein products have seen growth "exceeding 100%" in the first quarter, while Zhenxi ice cream launched in January – has seen monthly growth of 130%.

The company said it remains focused on innovation to drive organic growth. Yili aims to rank in the top five global dairy manufacturers and generate revenues of CNY100bn.
