B&G Foods president and CEO Casey Keller is retiring after five years at the helm of the US manufacturer.
In a statement, B&G Foods said it was “mutually agreed” that Keller will step down as chief executive and as a director of the company tomorrow (7 August).
Keller said: “It has been an honour to serve as the chief executive officer of B&G Foods. I am proud of our accomplishments as we have navigated through difficult trends in the consumer packaged foods industry.
“Importantly, we have begun to reshape our portfolio through our recent divestiture and acquisition activity, and I believe the dedicated and resilient team at B&G Foods will guide the company towards a bright future.”
B&G Foods said its board has already selected its new CEO, though the executive's name remains confidential. The company confirmed the incoming chief executive, who holds "a senior leadership position at another public company", has accepted the offer.
The New Jersey-based firm said it expects to announce the appointment “shortly”,
B&G Foods board chair Stephen Sherrill said: “On behalf of our entire company, I want to thank Casey for his contributions to B&G Foods, including his efforts to begin reshaping our portfolio to sharpen focus, simplify our portfolio, improve margins and cash flow, and maximise future value creation.
“Casey helped guide B&G Foods through challenging times for our industry, including post-Covid supply chain disruption, price inflation and unprecedented tariffs. I wish Casey the best of luck in his retirement and continued success in all his future endeavours.”
