The private-label manufacturer said the acquisition “meaningfully expands” its capacity and footprint.

CK Snacks has struck a deal to acquire fellow US-based co-manufacturer Keystone Food Products.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a statement, the Grand Rapids, Michigan-headquartered private-label manufacturer said the acquisition “meaningfully expands” its capacity and footprint.

CK Snacks also acquired own-label peer Axium Foods in 2024.

The company added its latest deal includes a production plant in eastern Pennsylvania, “uniquely” positioning it to work with major retailers, grocery chains and branded food companies across North America.

Jamie Colbourne, CK Snacks CEO, said: “We are very excited about the addition of Keystone to our snacking platform. This acquisition helps build out both our geographic reach and our portfolio of products, allowing us to better serve our customers and continue our growth trajectory.”

Keystone makes a range of snack products, including masa and cooked corn tortilla chips, baked and fried extruded items, die-cut and random-shaped snacks.

It also produces party mixes, pellets, and natural and organic snack lines.

Keystone will continue operating from its facility in Easton, Pennsylvania.

CK Snacks, otherwise known as Cheeze Kurls, was founded in 1964 and makes extruded, fried, and baked products, as well as popcorn and party mixes.

Following the acquisition, CK Snacks said its platform will consist of three manufacturers – CK Snacks, Axium Foods and Keystone – across different regions and product segments.

Illinois-based Axium, founded in 1960, specialises in tortilla chips, corn chips, extruded snacks, and pellet snacks.

Just Food has contacted CK Snacks for additional details such as the combined revenues of the three businesses, the total number of manufacturing plants and how its geographical reach will change post the transaction.
