US food manufacturer Golden State Foods has re-shaped its leadership team with moves including the promotion of COO Brian Dick to CEO.

The overhaul follows the death of Mark Wetterau, the company’s chairman and CEO, in May.

The California-based supplier to the foodservice and retail channels promoted Dick to COO and president as a result of Waterau’s passing and he retains the president title.

Dick has worked for the company for 24 years having joined in 1999 as business development manager.

Other promotions announced are John Page to executive vice president and chief administrative officer, Brad Tingey to corporate senior vice president and CFO and Stephen Wetterau to corporate senior vice president, strategy, technology and innovation.

Conrad Wetterau, chairman of the company’s board, said: “These executive leadership changes will help Golden State Foods best support our customers and enable the continued growth of our company and our people, as we pursue strategic succession plans to optimise the deep expertise and proven capabilities of our senior leadership team.”

Privately-owned Golden State, established in 1947, supplies meat, dairy and product lines including sauces, dressings and condiments, and employs more than 6,000 staff. It has supplied fast food giant McDonald’s for more than 65 years.

It supplies more than 125,000 restaurants and stores in more than 50 countries from 50 locations on five continents and is said to have annual revenues of around $7bn.
