Jamaican food-and-drinks manufacturer Seprod has sold its biscuits unit International Biscuits Limited.

The biscuits business makes products under brands including Butterkist and Snackables. It also manufactures products for other brand owners, such as Ovaltine and Miss Birdie.

The financial terms of the transaction and any information about the buyer were not disclosed. Just Food has contacted Seprod for more details.

In a stock-exchange filing, Seprod said the disposal aligns with its “portfolio optimisation strategy to enhance operational focus, strengthen its balance sheet and deliver sustainable long-term value to shareholders”.

CEO Richard Pandohie added: “This transaction represents a deliberate and strategic step in aligning our portfolio with our long-term growth priorities.

“We are sharpening our operational focus, strengthening our balance sheet, and preserving strong commercial partnerships that support our broader manufacturing and distribution platform.”

Seprod will keep distributing IBL-made products locally. The company added existing export arrangements will stay in place.

Last month, Seprod, home to brands including Betty milk and Swizzle beverages, reported its annual revenue increased 15% to J$153.62bn ($977.8m) during 2025.

Operating profit climbed 34% to J$12.07bn and net profit jumped 72.1% to J$5.72bn.

In a statement published alongside the results on 24 February, the group said: “This growth reflects expanded distribution volumes, improved pricing execution and the continued integration of recent acquisitions.”

During the year, Seprod lifted its stake in AS Bryden & Sons Holdings Limited (ASBH), a distribution-focused business, from 50% to 80%, while ASBH increased its holding in Caribbean Producers (Jamaica) Limited (CPJ), a supplier to the hospitality and foodservice market, from 75% to 80%.
