Spanish cereals group Haricaman has brought in agri-food investor Unigrains as a minority shareholder.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Haricaman, a family-owned business based in Añover de Tajo in central Spain, supplies breakfast cereals, flours and breadcrumbs to retailers and industrial customers, mainly under private-label brands.
The business plans to strengthen its breakfast-cereals operation by widening its range and building two new manufacturing facilities.
The group, which employs around 200 people, also wants to launch rice, corn and legume crackers, broaden its gluten-free line-up and "optimise operations and capacity".
Led by CEO Nicolás Rodríguez Cuéllar and majority-owned by the Rodríguez Cuéllar family, Haricaman is targeting sales of more than €50m ($57m) in 2026.
“With Unigrains Iberia, we have found a sector-specialised partner that understands both the specific characteristics of our industry and the particular considerations of a family-owned business,” Rodríguez Cuéllar said.
Earlier this month, Unigrains exited Spanish convenience-food maker Ñaming when the business was sold to local food manufacturer Palacios Alimentación.
Last year, Unigrains invested in Italian bakery group L’Albero del Pane.
Álvaro Hernández, the CEO of Unigrains' arm in Iberia, said: “Haricaman has built a unique position in the Spanish market, combining strong industrial know-how, an entrepreneurial culture and a proven capacity for innovation.
“Its focus on grains-based products fits perfectly with Unigrains’ DNA and longstanding expertise, and we look forward to supporting the company in its next stage of sustainable growth.”
