The Nutriment Company has continued its acquisition spree with the purchase of Yorkshire Raw Feeds, the UK-based raw pet food supplier.

The financial terms of the transaction were not revealed.

Yorkshire Raw Feeds specialises in raw pet food chubs, which it supplies to specialist pet retailers across Yorkshire and neighbouring areas. The business also offers private label manufacturing.

Announcing the acquisition yesterday (1 June), The Nutriment Company (TNC) said the deal “strengthens” its business with specialist retailers.

Anders Kristiansen, the CEO of TNC, said: “The affordable raw segment is one of the fastest-growing parts of the market, and this acquisition further strengthens our position in that space. With deep roots in Yorkshire and a loyal customer base, this is a business built on real expertise and genuine customer trust – exactly the kind of partners we look for.”

According to the Swedish pet group, its support will make Yorkshire Raw Feeds “well placed to bring its expertise to retailers and raw feeders across the whole of the UK”.

Just Food has approached TNC for further comment.

James Glover, the managing director of Yorkshire Raw Feeds, said: “We have spent over 30 years in this industry and built something our customers keep coming back to. Being part of TNC means we can serve those customers even better, while also bringing what we do to raw feeders across the whole of the UK.”

TNC's existing business in the UK includes assets the company has acquired in recent years.

Last year, the group snapped up The Dog’s Butcher, a supplier of “premium” raw dog food.

In 2024, the company made three acquisitions in the UK, buying Pet Treats Wholesale, Natural Instinct and Totally Natural Pet Products.

TNC, which is backed by Nordic private-equity firm Axcel, has continued to make acquisitions this year.

In May, the company announced the acquisition of German pet-food businesses Frostfutter Perleberg and eBarf from K&K Petfood.

Last year, TNC expanded its German footprint by snapping up private-label specialist Graf Barf from CDS Hackner in June and taking ownership of BAF Petfood from Fressnapf in March.

In December, the company entered the Polish pet-food market with the purchase of Zoo Factory, a distributor of “premium” pet treats and pet food.
