In a statement issued yesterday (16 February), the company described the project as the “largest” ever investment in the plant. The business was founded by Fernando Sintes in 1940 and is owned by the London-based fund Cheyne Capital Management, which acquired a 97.5% stake in 2020.
The company produces sticks, cones and ice lollies under its namesake brand supplied to markets across Europe.
The line will be able to produce 30,000 ice creams per hour, equivalent to 10 million litres of ice cream annually.
It is due to be operational by the end of the year and will add 1,100 square metres to the factory’s production area.
