The company has said the investment will allow it to develop and market processed and value-added poultry products in India.

“Poultry is usually the low-cost protein in the market place, whether it’s compared to mutton, beef or pork [and] there will come a desire to add more protein as incomes rise,” Tyson chairman John Tyson said.

Godrej Tyson Foods, the JV company, sells the processed chicken brand Real Good and Yummiez branded chicken sausages.
