Nestlé France has established a Nutrition Foundation in order to “help families in France to adopt eating habits which are beneficial to health and well-being”.
Bearing the motto “Eat well to live better,” the Foundation has assembled a committee of experts to identify research that Nestlé will fund.
Three research grants of EUR20,000 (US$28,238) will be offered annually, the first in spring 2009 on the theme: “Food in its biological, social and human dimensions.”
The Foundation’s annual budget will be EUR1.5m.
The Foundation is a first for Nestlé and, if successful, the initiative could be extended to other markets.
