Anton Paar has launched the Julia DSC series, a powerful new generation of differential scanning calorimeters (DSC) developed to deliver unmatched speed and simplicity for materials analysis.

This latest addition expands the company’s materials characterisation portfolio to include differential scanning calorimetry, reinforcing Anton Paar’s position as a leading provider of solutions for rheometry, particle characterisation, and surface and pore analysis, all from a single source.

“With Julia DSC, we’ve combined performance and usability in a way that truly sets a new benchmark,” says Product Manager Jiří Kislinger. “Unmatched cooling rates, faster results, and minimal training needs, this is exactly what today’s labs demand, and we’re proud to deliver it.”

At the heart of the Julia DSC is an air-cooled Peltier module enabling measurements down to -35 °C with no need for external chillers. For deeper temperatures, interchangeable cooling modules can be swapped in under five minutes to reach cryogenic temperatures as low as -170 °C – the fastest switching time on the market.

Julia Suite software features a graphical method editor with smart suggestions, automated calibration routines, performance checks, and a dedicated QC mode. No specialised training is required, and everything is optimised for speed, precision, and usability.

An optional autosampler offers capacity for 70 samples and eight reference positions, increasing throughput while reducing manual handling. Additionally, a programmable eco mode ensures energy-efficient operation, making Julia DSC a future-ready solution for laboratories focused on sustainability.

From refined QC to cutting edge R&D, the Julia DSC Series delivers fast, reliable results in just minutes, bringing differential scanning calorimetry to a new level of accessibility and efficiency.
