Odour biofiltration systems
Sustained and efficient biological odour control can be achieved with our compact FiltaOdor biofiltration systems. By controlling even air distribution, filter bed moisture, air humidity and thermal control, FiltaOdor systems optimise the biodegradation process.
FiltaOdor biofiltration systems are a compact unit, which can be used in areas where space is at a minimum and are ideally suited to urban and industrial applications. The Filtaodor media is revolutionising the biofilter market, with high surface area, high moisture retention properties and low compaction and breakdown rates the Filtaodour media offers a media life of between five and 15 years.
Soil bed biofilters
Soil bed biofilters rely on naturally occurring microorganisms to metabolise air pollutants to harmless by-products. Contaminated air is distributed and passed through a bed packed with moist organic media. Contaminants are absorbed into the water layer surrounding the media surface, where they are biologically destroyed by active bacteria.
Our biofilters are environmentally friendly and reduce OHS risks, whilst still being cost-effective. Each OCS soil bed biofilter is designed and manufactured according to the specific needs of the clients.

Activated carbon filters
A large variety of odour issues can be dealt with by OCS’s activated carbon filters, which range from simple 200l drum carbon canisters to larger and more complex custom-built units.
An activated carbon unit consists of four main components:
- Prefilter – removes excess fats and condensate
- Fan / blower – provides required air extraction
- Activated carbon media – adsorbs contaminants
- Vent stack – expels treated air at a height

OCS offers hydraulic or pneumatic spraying systems depending on your requirements and the application it is to be used for.
OCS’s BioStreme products decrease odour by enhancing the growth and reproduction of facultative bacteria. Facultative bacteria can function in both aerobic and anaerobic environments and are major contributors to the stabilisation of waste and wastewater through synthesising organic material without producing odours.
BioStreme’s formula consists of micronutrients, amino acids and hybrid organic extracts considered to be the building blocks for growth and synthesis of new cell material.
