Notably, Management Occupations jobs accounted for a 14% share of the global consumer industry’s social responsibility-related total new job postings in Q1 2023, down 14% over the prior quarter.
Management Occupations drive social responsibility-related hiring activity
Management Occupations, with a share of 14%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the consumer industry in Q1 2023, with new job postings drop by 14% quarter-on-quarter. Production Occupations came in second with a share of 13% in Q1 2023, with new job postings dropping by 22% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent social responsibility roles include Sales and Related Occupations with a 6% share in Q1 2023, Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with a 6% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in consumer industry accounted for 20% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q1 2023 were Rich Products, Tyson Foods, Pizza Hut, International Flavors & Fragrances, and Panera Bread. Together they accounted for a combined share of 20% of all social responsibility-related new jobs in the consumer industry.
Rich Products posted 2,303 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q1 2023, Tyson Foods 2,232 jobs, Pizza Hut 1,675 jobs, International Flavors & Fragrances 1,232 jobs, and Panera Bread 1,176 jobs, according to GlobalDataâ€™s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 70.50% share of total new job postings, Q1 2023
The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the consumer industry in Q1 2023 was in the US with 70.50% followed by Canada (4.93%) and the UK (4.07%). The share represented by the US was seven percentage points lower than the 77.78% share it accounted for in Q4 2022.
