Mondelēz made several important acquisitions during the research period including energy bar manufacturer Clif Bar and Mexican confectioner Ricolino. In terms of investments the Chicago based company has been focusing on increasing the production capacity of its Oreo and Ritz brands with a new plant in Henrico County, Virginia. The facility will feature a high-speed production line and a dedicated fulfilment centre.
In line with targets set at the COP26 international climate talks, Mondelez has also updated its own net-zero strategy with a view to reaching interim goals in the next two years. The company is particularly interested in making cocoa farming in West Africa more environmentally friendly as well as promoting regenerative agriculture in the US.
