BRIEFING: The growing cost of food

The growing cost of food has become one of the fastest moving and hottest stories around. This month's briefing outlines the current situation. Starting from the hypothesis that the cost of growing food is rising, we provide a snapshot of what has been happening during the first half of 2008, along with the varying perspectives of those growing our food and the reasons why their (and our) costs are growing. Our conclusions will highlight the ramifications and the issues which we believe will remain in the headlines for the remainder of the year, at least.
