September 2022 has seen an increase of 4.03% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 1.19% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering a decrease of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 27.41% in September 2022, a 4.31% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 21.73% in September 2022, marking a 1.15% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 18.52% in September 2022, a 13.79% drop from August 2022.

Top five food companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 23.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food industry during September 2022 over previous month.

The J. R. Simplot posted 108 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 31.71% over the previous month, followed by Rich Products with 46 jobs and a 76.92% growth. Bunge with 39 IT jobs and JBS with 34 jobs, recorded a 21.88% rise and an 88.89% rise, respectively, while Nestle recorded a 40.82% decline with 29 job postings during September 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food industry IT hiring activity with a 94.81% share in September 2022, a 13.27% increase over August 2022. Canada featured next with a 4.2% share, up 41.67% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.99% share, a drop of 77.78% compared with August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.07%, down by 0.9% from August 2022. Entry Level positions with a 22.47% share, registered a growth of 102.22% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 17.04% share, down 13.75% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 6.42%, recording a month-on-month growth of 13.04%.
