Argentina’s competition authority has approved the acquisition of local bakery firm Compania de Alimentos Fargo to a consortium that includes Mexican baked goods giant Grupo Bimbo.

Back in July 2003, Bimbo said it had a 30% stake in a consortium that took control of Fargo, and competition approval has been pending since, reported Dow Jones International News.

Argentina’s antitrust regulator has approved the sale on the condition that the consortium sells Fargo’s Lactal bread and bakery brand and its Pacheco plant.
