The market for snack food in Argentina is on the rise, according to data released by AC Nielsen that was reported in the local press.


Snack consumption in the country was up 13% in 2005, the AC Nielsen report said. Potato crisp held 42% of the market with peanuts taking 17%.


A majority of the market (56%) was made up of packets of between 100 and 250 grams. Larger servings were 25% of the marker and smaller packs held 19%.
