Bids for the Argentine and Uruguayan units of beleaguered Italian dairy group Parmalat are reportedly due today [Friday].

According to local media, seven groups, including four dairy companies and three investment funds, have expressed interest in buying the assets, reported Reuters.

Parmalat, which is at the centre of a massive financial scandal after a multi-billion-euro hole was found in its accounts, announced in March that it planned to sell various assets in the US, Latin American and Asia, and said it expected to sell the Argentine and Uruguayan units soon.
