The Australia New Zealand Food Authority (ANZFA) has controversially recommended that details of allergenic ingredients such as nuts, fish, and dairy products should be printed on food labels.

Member of the food industry are angered because the ANZFA believe that even small amounts need to be mentioned. Ian Lindenmayer, managing director of ANZFA, defended the proposal by stating that the food industry must inform the consumer of the negatives as well as the positives of their products.
