Australia’s national wheat exporter AWB has agreed with Indonesia’s biggest flour importer Bogasari Flour Mills to a joint promotion of branded flour in Indonesia.
The agreement will establish minimum percentages of AWB wheat that must be used in Bogasari’s grist to ensure a demand for Australian wheat, reported Reuters.
The joint promotions will include television and print advertising as well as road shows to Indonesian cities and an exhibition in Jakarta.
From this month consumers will be able to purchase Bogasari flour packs branded with the AWB logo from Indonesian supermarkets.
AWB exports around two million tonnes of wheat to Indonesia every year, with the majority going to Bogasari.
