Bel, the France-based cheese maker, has added cheese dippers to the range of The Laughing Cow products it sells in the US.

The group is targeting interest in snacking on the move or away from home.

“On-the-go snacking continues to be a top consumption trend in the US,” Bel said.

The company cited 2014 data from Mintel, which it said showed 73% of Americans are snacking away from home. Bel noted the figure rose to 85% for millennial consumers.

Two lines are being launched – one with “classic” breadsticks and the other with tomato and herb breadsticks. Single-serve packs have a suggested price of US$1.49. Five-pack boxes have a recommended price of US$4.99.

Earlier this month, Bel reported an increase in sales in 2015. The company does not disclose sales by individual market but said sales rose in the Americas overall.
