Brazilian vegetable oil producer BioBras Eco Oleo has set aside R$70m (US$25.8m) to build plants that will produce biodiesel.


The company will construct seven plants by the end of this year, each with an investment of R$10m, the head of BioBras, Artur Augusto Alves, told O Tempo.


BioBras is made up of four vegetable oil producers, and hopes to reach biodiesel output of 75 million litres per year, taking a 10% slice of the Brazilian biodiesel market. The company already operates one biodiesel plant.
