Brazilian poultry exports will rise by between 5% and 10% on 2005 levels in 2006,  Ricardo Goncalves, president of Brazilian Chicken Exporters Association, has said.


According to told the Latin News Digest, the anticipated opening of new markets will likely drive the rise of Brazilian poultry in 2006. It is expected that trade with the Philippines, China, Turkey, Malaysia and Serbia will commence in the coming year.


In 2005, Brazil’s poultry exports increased by 35% to a record high of 2,854m tonnes of poultry, generating a revenue of UD$3,508bn.
